Home Groups Available

Home Groups are the backbone of The Bridge.  Through a Bridge Home Group, you will meet others, grow with God, and connect with your larger neighborhood and world.  There are a number of Home Groups that meet throughout the Bay Area and at different days and times of the week.  To find out more about a Home Group that meets close to you, contact us at info@thebridgesanjose.org.

“Family Sundays” at The Bridge

On the fourth Sunday of every month The Bridge celebrates what is called Family Sunday.  During Family Sundays kids and adults worship together for the entire hour.  Research has shown that children who worship with their parents are more likely to continue in their faith when they become adults than those children who learned separate from their parents.  Kids grow more when they see their parents worship God and participate along with them.

Therefore,  we have especially designed our forth Sundays for kids and adults to worship, learn and enjoy God together.  Kids sing and share along with the parents.  Kids will hear a Sunday message that is applicable for both them and their parents.  Kids are given markers, crayons, and large sheets of paper where they are encouraged to draw pictures of what they are hearing or learning.  We also celebrate Communion together on forth Sundays.  Finally, after the service, the church enjoys a community potluck together.

Our forth Sunday services help to build a strong community where everyone grows in the Lord together.

Communion at The Bridge

The Bridge participates in Holy Communion on the forth Sunday of every month.  Communion is open to any person who has confessed Jesus as his or her Savior and Lord and has been baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Communion is the fullest expression of our faith as we partake in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ–the Savior of the World.

Excellent Kids Program

BridgeKids is a great place for kids to learn about God…

Kids are very important at The Bridge!  BridgeKids was designed to give your child the best possible experience with God and with other kids.  BridgeKids is for children 0-12 years old.  Through BridgeKids your child will benefit from an age-appropriate curriculum that is centered on God’s Word.  Your child will learn to apply the Bible in a way that captures his imagination and shapes her character. BridgeKids has loving and well-prepared instructors who work diligently to create an environment that is safe, fun, and inclusive of all kids and learning styles.

Each Sunday, BridgeKids begins with kids and adults worshipping together in the main sanctuary.  Then, the children are dismissed and guided by their teachers to their age-appropriate classroom.  While together, the children will hear Bible stories, create crafts, memorize Scripture, and play fun games together that deepen their faith.  BridgeKids is also used to prepare children for upcoming holiday shows and concerts.  BridgeKids is a great training ground for future leaders.

BridgeKids is divided into three groups:

  • Infants & Toddlers
  • Kindergarten – 3rd Grade
  • 4th-5th Grade

Youth Ministry

In addition to BridgeKids, we also have a Youth Ministry for ages 6th to 12th grade.  Led by our Youth Pastor, James Alvarado, junior and senior high school students have a great time making friends and learning about God.  The Youth Ministry meets on the first and third Sundays of the month.  They also have monthly youth nights and annual retreats.   Check out the Youth Ministry this Sunday.  It rocks!

Home Groups

Are you looking to get connected?  Then Bridge home groups are the place for you!  Through a Bridge home group you will make new friends, grow in your faith, and find opportunities to serve your community and world.  There are a number of Bridge home groups that meet throughout the work week and we’ll help you find one close to you..

Most Bridge home groups are sermon-based.  Sermon-based home groups take the opportunity to review and discuss the previous Sunday’s sermon for greater depth, clarity and application.  This greater discussion of the Sunday sermon often leads to increased life-transformation, which is the goal of every Bridge home group.

A typical home group meets in a group members home on a weekday night.  There is time for personal sharing, singing and worship, discussion of the sermon, and prayer.  There is also time for lots of fun.  Every Bridge home group is encouraged to have one designated area where they serve the community.  The Bridge desires everyone to experience the power of serving others in community.  Some home groups even go on long distance mission trips together, like to Haiti and the Gulf Coast after hurricane Katrina.
